Your JCPSC Executive Committee has been hard at work the last few months as we continue to re-imagine, re-work and re-tool our professional association.
Our biggest development, by far, is a new fiscal sponsorship relationship that we have now finalized between JCPSC and Jewish Jumpstart. This partnership will allow JCPSC to, for the first time, accept charitable contributions from donors who wish to support our professional association. We are all quite excited about the possibilities that this will open up for us all. Many thanks go to Joshua Avedon at Jewish Jumpstart (and a member of our Executive Committee) for assisting us every step along this path. Stay tuned as more details are announced!
Sadly we must soon say good-bye to our current JCPSC Director, Michelle W. Malkin, who will soon be re-locating to New Jersey where her husband has taken a new position. THANK YOU Michelle for your great work, awesome technical know-how and keeping us on track. We encourage you all to reach out to Michelle to say thanks.
With one window shut, it opens another. We are pleased to welcome Danit Rothstein on-board as our interim director. She has already stepped up and is helping with the transition. We will determine the exact nature of the position as our fundraising efforts begin to take shape. We hope to expand the job from its current 20 hours a month, to 20 hours per week if we can raise sufficient funds. We are open to ideas as to prospective donor names…so please pass them along to us if you have any ideas.
We are also beginning our work for our Annual Honors Dinner. Save the date for Thursday, November 17th @ the Sephardic Temple on Wilshire. Thanks to immediate past JCPSC President, Lori Tessel, for stepping back into a key role in leading the nomination process with assistance from Rabbi Yechiel Hoffman and other previous honor recipients. If you are interested in volunteering for the Dinner, please let us know SOON.
As for our Annual Conference, we will be bringing it back next June. Given our changes and fundraising needs, we decided to skip this year and bring back the conference next year bigger and better than ever…please let us know if you have any ideas for the conference program for next year.
We also will be working on a new slate of events for the next program year and hope to announce them all at the Dinner in early Fall. Stay tuned!
Finally, we both want to thank our tireless Executive Committee and every one of our members who have shown such steadfast support for JCPSC. While this past year was a year of transition, we truly feel that we are positioned now to grow and develop in ways that we have not been able to do in the past. With your continued support and interest, we look forward to working with you moving ahead.
